If you are privy to this page, you were a MAD Uth (Madras Marthoma Youth) sometime in the past. Nostalgia always accompanies recollection. Each one of us, were involved in varying degrees with the Chetpet Palli. We have left our footprints in the history of the church. Chronologically, it was necessary to separate the past from the present. Hence the alumni belongs to the period of the old church ie., till 1999.This website is created to have a common storehouse of memorabilia. All members are solicited to contribute to the history of the MAD Uth with anecdotes, photographs and other tidbit “No man is rich enough to buy back his past.” Oscar Wilde

Brief History of Chetpet Palli and its Yuvajana Sakhyam The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was constituted in 1933 and its Golden Jubilee was celebrated in 1985 .Most of the Parishes both inside and outside Kerala have branches of the Sakhyam. A group of such branches form a Center. There are a number of such Centres under each Diocese. The Constitution of the Sakhyam prescribes that the President should be a Bishop of the Church. The Madras Mar Thoma Syrian has the distinction of being the first parish of the Church outside Kerala. Established in the year 1936 with about 60 settlers from Kerala, it started as a student congregation. The congregation grew into a full fledged parish with the construction of the church which was dedicated in July 1951 by the then Metropolitan, Most Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma The mother parish at Chetpet still has over 650 families in its fold with over 3000 members and this does not include the floating student community.
